Movie Trailer: Loving Vincent

Loving Vincent

Here is the trailer for the upcoming film "Loving Vincent" by Breakthru Films. The film consists of twelve oil paintings per second, all done by over 100 painters trained in the same style as Vincent VanGogh. The art form of film is vastly different from painting. A painting is a moment frozen in time, while film is fluid; moving through time and space. The team working on this movie used real actors who performed on constructed sets, designed to look like Vincent's paintings, or by green screens with his work. The live footage was then combined through computer animation and composited together with design paintings to create material for the Painting Animation. The painting animators task was to transform the reference material into Vincent VanGogh's painting style, and then recreate the movement of the shot through animating each brushstroke. Once a frame is complete, a digital still is taken then they start on the next frame. The entire movie is composed of 65,000 frames and 898 shots. A release date for this upcoming film has not been confirmed yet. Be on the lookout for this film, it's one you won't want to miss!
